Vintage Water Boiler!!!!

Older Version Copper Water Boiler which was used in 1930's. This water boiler was hand-made and rare collectibles. In Tamil referred as "Vemba". Hot water is made in the primitive "tall boy" copper heater, dried cowdung - and - straw pats its fuel, fired in a tray at the base; and the water for a bath is caught in the smaller unda (copper pot) beneath the heater's tap.

Copper Heater "Tall Boy"

This is a Copper heater or another nick name called "Tall Boy". In Tamil we named as "Vemba"It looks like a vertically positioned copper boiler, venting steam and smoke with coal ambers glowing in it belly. This normally use to boiling water. In some wealthy homes, this vessel is a must. In South India this boiler will be a 1st investment of any tea shop. They used this to boiling water and make a tea or coffee. This copper boiler was used in 1950's era or earlier. We bought this from an Indian family in Little India, Penang. If notice, the name of family was incised on it. Very interesting and eye catching piece.

Octagon Betel Nut Box!!!!

Another type of Betel Nuts box it is in octagon shape. It was made from copper material with floral design, embossed and showed fine and delicate artistry. It is a very interesting shape and only used by wealthy individual according to the seller. Bought this in Penang with Tamil wording inscribed on it.

Light weight and it comes with 5 small containers to put betel nut ingredients that comes with the cutter.

Oil Container

This copper container was used to fill coconut oil back then. This coconut oil was being used for cooking and other home purposes. The aroma of the coconut oil still remain in this copper container. I bought this in Kampung Minyak, off Dato Kramat Road, Penang.

Copper Bucket

This copper bucket was found in Amcorp Mall, Kuala Lumpur. Traditionally it was used by Tamil community to carry sweet items called "palagaram" to relatives' or friends' house. This is a medium sized bucket and it comes in various sizes. It was made from copper that was impossible for the people back then to buy it as it costs a lot.

Now most buckets are made from stainless steel.
