Dr.Carl, Ms.Khoo Salma & Mr.A.R Lubis Visit
DR.CARL, MS.KHOO SALMA & MR.A.R LUBIS VISITED OUR PLACE ON 3 FEB 2013.
Dr Carl Vadivella Belle served in the Australian High Commission, Kuala Lumpur, from 1976-1979, and has maintained a long term interest in Malaysian social, religious and political issues. His doctoral dissertation, “Thaipusam in Malaysia: A Hindu Festival Misunderstood?” was accepted by Deakin University in 2004. He was appointed inaugural Hindu Chaplain at Flinders University in 2006. He has lectured on both Malaysian politics and history as well as South Indian Hindu traditions, and has had numerous papers published on these subjects. He has also acted as consultant on several documentary productions focusing on the festival of Thaipusam. He currently works as an independent scholar.
