An interesting photo taken in Batu Pahat, Johor, date stated 1937. Look these young couple, they're most probably very young in their early teens. The girl is wearing saree typically worn by Indian women and the boy is dressed in western attire. There is no "Thali" around the girl's neck. "Thali" means in a marriage it shows the girl has already been married according to the Tamil community customs. In this case, it could be exchanging of rings.
However, the uniqueness of this photo that this young couple shows the way they were dressed at that particular time period.
