"Caping" In Tamil called "Arasilai"

This is an ornament worn by girls reaching pre-puberty age. It's called as "Modesty Disc" in English. It is shaped like a leaf.

Some are made in gold, silver, bronze, copper, leather and so on. This will be decided according to their family wealth. A string will be worn around the waist. Can be used thick string or silver string. The ornament is hung so that it covers the private part. After puberty, it will not be worn anymore.This also believed used as an amulet which able to prevents evil spirits from entering the body.

According to some sources, even boys wore this before reaching the puberty age also.
